Eco - Friendly Schools Campaign

The Ministry of Environment, climate Affairs, and the Ministry of Education launched the eco-friendly schools project  in cooperation with the Ministry of Education.

This comes from the perspective of the shared responsibility of all members of society, especially within the framework of the school system, which is one of the best systems to introduce concepts to society because of its active role in developing capacities and direct communication with age groups qualified to make change. At this age and in a method based on scientific and practical basis.


It was agreed with the Ministry of Education to implement the proposal to equip two environmentally friendly schools for girls and one for boys at the level of the second. This includes the establishment of an environmental team of students and teachers to follow up the implementation of environmental requirements (environmental school law), including rationalization of electricity and water consumption, use of alternative energy applications, proper waste management (eg reduction of consumption, reuse and recycling) (Scientific publications - school radio - celebrating environmental events - environmental library), guided scientific trips that fit the curriculum, afforestation and other works

The project will be implemented in several stages, with the responsibility of the community by the governmental and private sector both in its area of ​​competence and support the implementation of the initiative materially and technically.

The Ministry has established educational workshops to sensitize the schools it has adopted in coordination with the Ministry of Education to be a primary model for environmentally friendly schools. It was about sustainable environmental agriculture. The first day included the theoretical aspect of the ground theater hall in the ministry. The second and final day included a field visit and practical application by specialists in the environment house For the target group and selected students from both schools.
In order to implement the environmental standards and requirements in environmentally friendly schools through which the sustainable environmental farm in the two schools is established on scientific bases that enable the curriculum to be linked to the sustainable environment.
